Paediatric Feeding Disorder (PFD) is a condition in which a child has difficulty with age-appropriate feeding behaviours, such as accepting different types of foods, drinking from a cup or bottle, or self-feeding. PFD condition can be caused by a variety of factors, including medical issues, developmental delays, or behavioural and sensory sensitivities. PFD can have a significant impact on a child's growth, development, and overall quality of life.
Globally, feeding disorders affect 25-45% of the paediatric population and up to 80% of children with disabilities. This condition can affect children of all backgrounds, with a higher likelihood in premature infants, children with autism, and those with genetic syndromes.
Dysphagia is a medical condition that affects an individual's ability to swallow food or liquids safely and efficiently. It can occur in people of all ages and is caused by delay in oral motor skill development and/ or a range of medical conditions such as stroke, neurological disorders, head and neck cancer, and aging. Dysphagia can lead to malnutrition, dehydration, and aspiration pneumonia, which can be life-threatening. Early diagnosis and treatment by a team of healthcare professionals, including Speech-Language Pathologists, is essential in managing dysphagia and improving an individual's quality of life.
Symptoms of dysphagia can include coughing or choking while eating or drinking, a sensation of food getting stuck in the throat, and frequent respiratory infections.
At our feeding and swallowing clinic, we are experienced in working with individuals of all ages who have a wide range of feeding and swallowing difficulties. We understand that every child and adult is unique, and we take a personalized approach to their care.

Assessments are important in determining the cause of feeding and swallowing difficulties. Our comprehensive assessment includes evaluating oral muscle function, observing feeding, and discussing with you the challenges experienced at home. This allows Speech-Language Pathologists to develop a personalized treatment plan that supports safety, client and family goals.
Our feeding and swallowing clinic offers a customized approach to treating feeding difficulties in children and adults. Our team is trained in multiple evidence-based feeding programs and approaches recognised by international feeding experts.
We develop comprehensive plans that may include strategies such as swallowing techniques, sensory-motor interventions, behavioural modification, dietary modifications, and medical management.
We also coordinate care with other healthcare providers and offer education and training on safe feeding and swallowing techniques.
*Our charges do not include the therapist's travel expenses for home visits, which will be billed separately. The travel expenses, determined by the distance travelled and the therapist’s seniority level, will be communicated to the client and agreed upon by both parties.
